Meet Dr Navid Nazarian

Dr. Navid Nazarian is a dedicated general practitioner specializing in musculoskeletal and sports injuries. With a keen interest in these areas, he remains up to date with the latest advancements in diagnosing and managing orthopaedic presentations in general practice.

Dr. Nazarian’s journey in orthopaedics began as an Orthopaedic Registrar from 2009 to 2014 across various esteemed health systems, including Geelong Hospital, The Alfred Hospital, and Southern, Northern, and Western Health. During this time, he gained invaluable experience in managing orthopaedic presentations and was exposed to a wide array of orthopaedic procedures across all subspecialties. Since 2014, Dr. Nazarian has also served as an Orthopaedic surgical assistant, collaborating closely with renowned Orthopaedic surgeons in Melbourne to provide exceptional surgical support and patient care.

Additionally, he has been part of the Eastern Health Fracture Diversion program, offering specialized care to patients with fractures.

Dr. Nazarian holds a multitude of qualifications and certifications, including an MD and FRACGP. Notably, he serves as the Chair of the RACGP Musculoskeletal, Sports, and Exercise Medicine Special Interest Group, a prestigious role that underscores his leadership and expertise in shaping standards of care and education in these areas.

His commitment to advancing medical knowledge is further demonstrated through participation in courses such as the QUT Certificate of Surgical Anatomy, comprehensive MSK ultrasound courses, and the AIU (Australian Institute of Ultrasound) comprehensive MSK Ultrasound guided injection Course, offered by the Australian Institute of Ultrasound.

Dr. Nazarian’s dedication extends beyond his clinical and academic pursuits to include research and education. He has contributed significantly to medical literature through publications in esteemed journals and presentations at prestigious conferences. Through his teaching endeavours, such as instructing third-year medical students at Melbourne Uni, Dr. Nazarian continues to inspire and mentor the next generation of healthcare professionals.
